St. Gallen, Switzerland - CorpIn GmbH has reached a new milestone: the St. Gallen-based start-up has made it onto the cover of Computerworld Switzerland with its comprehensive AI Readiness Switzerland study. In the current issue, the renowned IT trade magazine dedicates a detailed cover story to our AI readiness study and the resulting Hexagon platform. We would like to thank the editors for this opportunity and are delighted that our findings on digital transformation and AI strategy are now being presented to a broad specialist audience.
Significance of the AI readiness study (1,338 companies)
The placement in Computerworld underlines the depth and relevance of our AI readiness study - the largest survey of its kind in Switzerland to date. A total of 1,338 Swiss companies from a wide range of sectors were surveyed in order to draw a first-time, well-founded picture of AI readiness in Switzerland. This is not only an impressive figure, but above all an important step towards creating transparency: Many companies may be launching their first AI initiatives, but how ready are they really? The study provides answers to this question and enables companies to determine their AI capabilities in relation to the market. It is striking that the digital transformation in many companies is progressing more slowly than technological progress. This is precisely why it was important to us to record the status quo of AI readiness in Switzerland with scientific thoroughness and to provide decision-makers with an empirical basis for strategic decisions.

Key findings: Data quality, strategy, competencies, culture and security
The extensive survey revealed that Swiss companies have a particular need to catch up in five areas - these sticking points of AI adoption were highlighted in the Computerworld story:
- Data quality: An inadequate data foundation is one of the biggest hurdles to successful AI projects. Without high-quality, structured data, even the most modern AI systems cannot realize their potential.
- Strategy: Many companies lack a clear AI strategy. The study shows that a lack of strategies often means that AI introductions remain sporadic and are not anchored in the corporate vision.
- Competencies: The lack of specialists and internal AI expertise is slowing down the implementation of AI initiatives. Without sufficient internal knowledge or specialized AI teams, it is difficult to transfer projects from the pilot phase to productive use.
- Cultural change: Successful use of AI requires a cultural shift towards more agility, experimentation and data-driven decision-making. An innovation-friendly corporate culture is just as crucial as technology - without this cultural change, the use of AI often remains piecemeal.
- Security concerns: Last but not least, security and data protection concerns are hampering AI adoption. Unclear guidelines and concerns about data misuse mean that companies are reluctant to use sensitive data for AI applications.
These key findings make it clear that sustainable AI success depends not only on technology, but also on the interplay of strategy, skills, data quality, culture and security. Those who proactively close the gaps here will gain a competitive advantage.
From research project to Hexagon platform: measuring AI readiness
We have drawn direct conclusions from the results of the study: A practical tool was developed from the research project. The data and insights gained have been incorporated into a data-based self-assessment tool for AI - the CorpIn Hexagon platform. It is based on one of the largest AI readiness databases in Switzerland and a scientifically sound maturity model (Hexagon model) that holistically assesses a company's AI readiness. Why Hexagon? The model looks at six central fields of action (dimensions) that are decisive for the level of AI maturity - from data and technology to strategy and competencies to culture and governance. Each of these dimensions is examined with specific criteria, a total of 56 qualitative and quantitative parameters, in order to paint a complete picture of an organization's AI fitness.
The platform is deliberately designed to be practical and straightforward to use. Decision-makers - whether CEO, CIO or department head - can fill out a detailed questionnaire online that asks about all relevant factors of AI readiness. Intelligent algorithms and expert assessments evaluate the entries and calculate an individual AI maturity score between 0 and 100 points. This self-assessment tool makes the abstract concept of AI readiness tangible for companies: Each participant receives a detailed report showing where their company stands and how it compares to the market. The Hexagon platform thus translates research into concrete added value - it helps to make AI readiness measurable and controllable.
Benefits for companies: Positioning, benchmarking, fields of action
For Swiss companies, the practical benefits of the Hexagon platform are obvious. The tool enables a holistic AI assessment - fact-based and individually tailored. Companies find out their current AI maturity level and recognize how far their digital transformation has progressed in the AI context. The platform also offers valuable benchmarking opportunities: Each participating company can compare its results with the anonymized average of over 1,300 Swiss companies from the study. This quickly reveals the areas in which they are ahead of or lagging behind the market. The report also helps to identify specific areas for action. The evaluation shows specifically in which dimensions - such as data foundation, AI skills or strategy - the greatest strengths and weaknesses lie. On this basis, prioritized measures and next steps can be defined in order to effectively develop the company's own AI strategy. For decision-makers in Swiss companies, this results in a strategic compass that provides orientation in the complex topic of AI and facilitates the planning of digital transformation.
